During this time, the Duergar complete the laen cold forge in Ravenna’s tower and she completes her first blade, a Claymore for Magnus.

Ravenna, searching for answers to the riddle of the prison of the World Snake, teleports to the Monastery to visit Mondaleth the Sage. Mondaleth is suitably impressed with Ravenna being the god of knowledge and grants Ravenna free use of all of the monastery’s resources. Ravenna meditates on the throne and visits the three sisters and four brothers in their tiny hut. She is greeted by Licensa the Allotter and when asked about the chaos spark she shows her the World Tapestry. In particular she instructs Ravenna to follow a particular thread woven throughout. “This is the life-thread of Akin Kaliberda that it took through the chaos. Notice how the Tapestry tangles full of snared threads in places – these are times of great strife and turmoil and yet Akin’s thread moves unaffected through it. While the Thing-Haver of the Chaos Spark can move though reality as if riding a wave, in times of great chaos an individual of great mental discipline can maintain their thread. If they can focus on a mundane task in a place of great chaos they might behold the white portal though which they might pass to Fractus – the primordial force of chaos.”
When pressed for details, Ravenna is told, “Go to the Tower of Erebo. Go to the Tower.”
So Ravenna implores the group to return to Tothkubad. She hopes to learn more about the Prison, the fact that the Prison was not built for Az, and yet Az is imprisoned within. She hopes to learn more about the whereabouts of the Death Spark and stop the decline of the human life force that keeps the Prison intact.

After a five day journey though the Void using the Voidwalker mapped routes, and a two day journey across the plains of Tothkubad, the Troupe reaches the dark city of Calithil. While on the plains, the had to avoid being spotted by a winged serpent made solely of bone wheeling and circling overhead.

Spend the day in Calithil, walking brazenly among the demonic, undead, human and razzik denizens of Calithil to reach the ruined tower next to the Citadel.
Ravenna leads the group into the tower and uses the Knowledge Spark to locate a small alcove set into a wall. Within the alcove is a fragment of a much larger crystal and when she picks it up, a memory floods into her:

Since you hare receiving this message, we can assume that the Master Knower has somehow been recovered and the fate of Faylin has been determined.
We send this to you as the battle outside rages and the curtain wall falls. Though Az the Unclean has twive assaulted the Tower and twice we have repelled him, it comes at a great cost: his cohort has grown these last decades while ours has dwindled. The Duergar remain deep in their homes, the elves have forssaken us for the Place at the Rift, and humans have already forgotten much.
We have created this record to set down all that has happened during the Chaos Incursion since Az stole Faylin and the Master Knower from us. While we expect the Tower of Erebo to fall, we have a plan to capture Az during his assault:
We three- Air, Earth, and Lightning- have built beacons on the far side of Evet and Kedi, these moons being the most remote places we could conceive and will serve as anchor points for his cell. With their completion, the prison is set and the trap is ready. Though the tower will fall, Akin’s trap will spirit him away at his moment of triumph to a place only he knows where. As long as a beacon is lit, as should be immune to liberation though the Chaos Spark can free him at any time. With the deaths of Diomas, Mortas Norwood and Fyserysh, the capture of the Death Spark and our failure to prevent the Chaos Incursion, we scatter now across Cignoria in an attempt to avoid the wrath of the Sisters and Brothers and flee a Xletheth.
